  • Fall 2013 Housing Information

    A block of rooms has been reserved for participants at the Hilton Houston Plaza/Medical Center, the Houston Marriott Medical Center and the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Houston (Medical Center). Please contact the hotel directly for reservations and reserve your room as soon as possible, as the special Workshop rate cannot be guaranteed after the reserved block of rooms has been filled.

    Please arrive in Houston the day before your session begins and schedule your hotel reservations accordingly. Registration opens at 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 13, and the program ends at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15. If you choose to return home on Tuesday evening, we suggest you select a flight leaving no earlier than 4:00 p.m.

    Please note that hours will be deducted from your certificate if you leave before the workshop ends. Attendees must complete the full 15 hours in order to receive an IB workshop certificate. Those who have fewer than 15 hours will receive a certificate only for Rice University Continuing Professional Education credits with no mention of IB, and their names will not be submitted to the IB organization as trained IB educators.

    We have contracted a shuttle to provide round-trip transportation service from the Hilton Houston Plaza/Medical Center, the Houston Marriott Medical Center and the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Houston (Medical Center) to the Rice campus. If you are registered at other hotels, please check with their concierge about transportation to Rice. While they may be close enough to Rice, we will not be able to service all hotels in the area. Area hotels may be unusually busy due to a large international conference whose dates coincide with our IB Workshops. Be sure to book your room early.
