    Rate: $109/night standard, $119/night suite. $20 will be added to the above suite rate per adult, per suite above double occupancy.

    Transportation to Rice will be provided from the Hilton.

    The Hilton Houston Plaza is located three blocks from the campus. Rates do not include parking ($12.00/night for self-park and $18.95/night for valet) or taxes. Room amenities include a small refrigerator, hair dryer, clock radio, iron and ironing board.

    Check-in is on the Monday before the start of each Institute and check-out is on the Friday of each Institute. The Hilton has traditionally hosted a reception on Thursday evenings for AP participants. Please check with the hotel desk upon check-in.

    Make your reservations directly with the Hilton Houston Plaza by the deadline below at 713-313-4000 or 800-HILTONS. Online reservations are available by clicking the appropriate group code. Please reserve your room as soon as possible, as the special Institute rate cannot be guaranteed after the reserved block of rooms has been filled.     Campus Housing

    Rice offers comfortable quarters for your stay within our beautiful campus. AP Summer Institute guests will be staying in a modern 2010 addition to one of Rice's historic colleges. Each bedroom is equipped with a chest, closet/wardrobe, desk and chair. You may share a bathroom with one other guest.

    Week 1 campus housing is FULL.

    Monday from 3:00-5:00 p.m. only. Keys are not available after 5:00 p.m., please plan your travel accordingly.
    Check out:
    Friday from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Early check-out is not available.

    Rate:
    $400.00/week
    Price includes breakfast Tuesday-Friday and dinner Monday-Thursday. Lunch Tuesday-Friday is included with workshop registration. 

    The following items are NOT provided by Rice housing. You must make arrangements to bring them yourself.

     Refund and Cancellation Policy:
    All housing cancellations and replacements must be made independent of Institute cancellations and replacements.
     

    Refunds will be issued for cancellations received via email or fax by June 7. No refunds will be issued after June 7.

    Dining Services
    Dining services provides breakfast and dinner for housing guests. Standard buffet menus include two entrees, 2 vegetables, 1 starch, fruit, salad, dessert and beverage service. Special dietary needs can be accommodated within reason. Please indicate this on your housing form.

    Campus Parking
    Free parking is provided in an assigned lot, to be determined. The Rice shuttle bus travels the “inner loop route” from 7:00 a.m. to 6:55 p.m. weekdays. Bus transportation ends at 6:55 p.m., after which participants will need to walk across campus to return to their housing.

    Information Technology
    Free wireless internet access is available throughout campus. No password is necessary.

    Fondren Library
    Public research terminals are located directly around the reference desk on the first floor of the library. Computers for online catalog searching are also available on each floor.
    Computer access for e-mail and word processing is not available to the public. (http://library.rice.edu/)
